what is your purpose

When a person loses their purpose in life, they lose all sense of meaning, just seeming to drift along with no harmony in their world nor any particular destination in mind. Life without meaning is like a bottomless abyss. If there is no rhyme or reason to what a person is doing in their existence then why are they here, what was the initial goal to begin with?

I firmly believe that everyone who is alive and able to breathe the air and entwine themselves into the natural beauty of the world has a calling, one that is unique to them alone. It is only if they recognize their own gifts that they uncover this reality for themselves, that is what the purpose in life is all about, discovering yourself. Some people are able to get in touch with their inner selves far better than others are but for someone to say that they have no calling, no natural gift all their own is to say that their existence among other living things is pointless? Are they then to live out the rest of their lives flipping burgers at the local fast food joint or are they going to look inside of themselves and truly find what has been lying hidden to enrich for years?

Our best assets are what we were endowed with during our creation. Some people are natural born philosophers, scientists, airline pilots, etc. Some are born geniuses and future discoverists. There are no limits to what life can be for someone if they just believe in themselves and put their mind to it. But, without a meaning, without a drive and ambition, life lies dormant and empty, like a sunken ship deep in the ocean, but still holding onto that sunken treasure yet to be found.

The point is, even if a person feels that they have tried, don't stop trying. Continue honing your gift, whatever that might be. Even writers becoming disillusioned and think of giving up on their dreams but it would be a mistake for them to do so just as it would be a mistake for any gifted and ambitious person to forsake what they were truly destined to become in life. This is not to say it isn't hard climbing that mountain but once at its peak, the treasure that can be found is unsurpassed. The best treasure is what you can do for yourself and how you can design your own life to ensure that your existence is not meaningless but one that leaves impressions behind for years to come.
